blah blah life stuff
Jan. 12th, 2019 02:23 pm2 weeks into 2019, and there's been little changes happening. There's been a bit of reshuffling of staff at the hospital -- new bosses moving in and old bosses moving out etc. which takes a bit of getting used to and also disrupts our work flow (as much as the medical community strives to stick to Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures, different specialists will still have different ways of management, and it takes a certain amount of time/experience to learn each of my bosses' subtle preferences of having stuff done).
By April, it will be my 2-year anniversary of being stranded on this island. I would have forced myself to submit my transfer request by then, but god knows how long it'll take to process and implement. The fear is getting the request rejected, or being transferred to an even more remote/inconvenient job location because that's how a government job works if you don't have Social Obligations (marriage, kids, dying parent etc)
All this uncertainty also puts my year's travel plans into limbo. I definitely want to go to Edinburgh this year but I don't know if I can make it 1 or 2 weeks (I HAVE SO MUCH STUFF TO SEE!!!) buuut I also have to save up some work leave for October cause that's when lil bro is graduating (apparently the convocation ceremony is going to be held in the royal albert hall?? fancy.)
BORING life stuff aside, I......... honestly haven't been doing all that much really
Gaming-wise, I'm getting stuck into Ni no Kuni II after finally figuring out how to toggle the settings to minimise my motion sickness while playing. I love most of the gameplay (oddly reminiscent of Kingdom Hearts for some reason) and the characters are adorable (I would DIE for Roland and Evan ok) but the skirmish battles are soooo annoyinggg.
I also completely missed out on Steam's winter sale LOL because I was too busy wasting my life on Armello (why is this game so addictive?) I've got about 20 things on my wishlist that I'll eventually deal with, maybe in the summer.
