peiyen | albums of the year

(okay so technically not all of them are albums, okay?)

my favourite of all of them? probably Paul Williams. lovelovelove Surf Music. it's such a chill album, perfect for driving along the beach to, which I seem to do quite often here. seeing him perform live in Edinburgh was also such a TREAT (best memory: loitering around the underbelly cowgate venue with my ipod and spotting him at the bar while his voice was playing through my earphones. Surreal.)

there's a lot of Fall Out Boy on the list as well haha. I actually saw them live this year! GODDAMN. Mania was released during an emotionally turbulent time of my life and I clung onto it a lot when i was depressed so every track on there holds a special place in my heart. they've been one of my favourite bands for aaages now and seeing them live with my two oldest friends was very special. i'm not one for rock concerts but just -- the crowd, the sweat, the LOUDNESS, screaming along to familiar lyrics with every other fan in the room -- honestly wouldn't trade that experience for anything. even including me stomping on the foot of an absolute douchenozzle who was aggressively moshing into everyone on purpose. i'm way too old for this shit lol.
