TELEVISION
new Travel Man is glooorious! i love it so much. I'm enjoying Richard's wardrobe choices a lot this series.
i'm never going to shut up about this but JAMES ACASTER'S REPERTOIRE IS SO GOOD. the man is a talent and i love him and i need to rewatch all 4 episodes again soon. i love that new people are discovering him through netflix I'M SO PROUD OF MY SON
on the downside i've have the KETTERING TOWN FC song stuck in my head for days now
it's gotten me back into drawing as well hahah i'm happy about this. i haven't had like, a big drawing project since a year ago.

i worked on and off on it for.. probably a week+??? i'm glad i did! and that i'm still capable of artsy shit despite sitting on my hands for a year. i'm stupidly proud of how it turned out like LOOK AT THAT SHADING, how did i do that. also james has seen it and it's blown up a bit on twitter (200 likes? wowza that's a lot for me) so, y'know, yay
BOOKS
i finished Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure (and watched the stand-up show based on it) and i continue to hold my opinion that this man is utterly insane. this was not the actions of a sane person. it's such a good tale though. also, i know the stand-up show was filmed in the early 2000s but WTF was he wearing??? those trousers look like they time traveled from the 1980s
VIDEOGAMES
i've, uh, bought Slime Rancher, against my better judgement. it was on sale during the videogame BAFTAs lolol i kinda had to. i've watched jacksepticeye play through the entire adventure mode already so i kinda know what i was going into. this is the sort of game that i kind of hate myself for liking? because it's mainly farming and routine and it eats up hours like nobody's business. the only thing that stops me from playing it for an entire day is the fact that FPS games give me motion sickness after approx 2 hours.
hell, it's addictive though. quite annoyingly. and so so cute.
PERSONAL
i'm in a better headspace these days. not sure why but maybe keeping myself busy with drawing and gaming helps? i've been neglecting regular meals and exercise again though, not to mention procrastinating on a LOT of stuff i need to do..
i've been looking forward to my break -- it's next week! i've got two weeks off work for a short trip to singapore (TO SEE FALL OUT BOY!!) and what was supposed to be an international forensics conference that's somehow been postponed.. i got pissed at the organisers for a bit lol but on second thought, well, it's extra time for me to spend at home. oh well.. swings and roundabouts then.
i'm going to visit my old workplace again when i go home again hmm. i need to sort something out with the forensics head of department about a transfer (he was really nice when i visited the morgue during housemanship so hopefully he'll help me out).
then i'll go pay a visit to orthopaedics like the lovesick child that i am lol.. maybe get coffee/lunch with Mr W again. i'm trying to wean myself off bothering him with unnecessarily moody messages but he sounded really upset today about some work-related stuff. honestly, he's the best surgeon i know and i've told him so buut he's had the worst run of luck for the past year and it absolutely breaks my damn heart when he's sad. he's helped me through some really shitty days and i hate it when i can't do the same in return

oh yeah some new shows got released this week.. my favourite list is growing a bit. i'm going to have to start planning soon!
