Day 1.
Stuart Goldsmith has been my first edfringe show for, i dunno, probably 3 years now! He just happens to be a Free Fringe show staged at a convenient time, and I usually keep my first day's schedule relatively free in case of any unforeseen delays in terms of arrival/accommodation... I'm a terribly organised person donchaknow. Stu's consistently perfect for easing into the fringe atmosphere though, and not too bad on the eyes hehe. Seriously, he always looks SO GOOD. He was sporting a pretty good tan and muscle bulk this year *wistful sigh* I always end up tipping him a ridiculous amount of cash too, out of obligation because of his ComComPodcast (of which I have about a kazillion unlistened episodes to go..) idk how people go to free fringe shows and not give money at the end... i'd feel super awkward, and it wouldn't help with the stupid stereotype of Asian people being stingy bastards. So, y'know, I try to subvert the stereotype by dumping money into buckets. 5 quid for an ok show, 10 quid if i liked it, 20 if I'm feeling generous (or if I was dumb enough not to bring enough change). I'M A NICE PERSON AND COMEDIANS DESERVE MY MONEY

I was very much looking forward to seeing John Robins again this year and he didn't disappoint. What a tragic clown, and such a heartbreak of a show. I love how open and no-holds-barred he is. I laughed, I cried. I wanted to give him a hug. I'm so happy he won the award, it's so well-deserved. I'm like a proud mom. Bless his cotton socks.

Ivo Graham's show was ok. Mostly I was shook up by the fear of being bantered at because I knew zilch about UK local politics, but enough to be impressed by how he memorised all the MPs and constituencies. It was an average show for me, but I'm happy enough to stare at Ivo. Pretty sure we're the same age, but I still view him as the baby of comedy lol. He must be protected at all costs

I was stupidly excited for WiFi Wars because hello I'm a tad bit obsessed with Go 8 Bit. Such a thrill to finally see Steve in person, oooh. First impression was goddamn that man can make an intro/tutorial exciting hahahha. The technology involved with this show was so cool! V impressive stuff. They've broken Guinness records and do regular demos at the RSI, which just ADDS TO THE COOLNESS TBH. Rob Sedgebeer is a worker of wonders. The audience were great too, so unlike your normal weekend edfringe crowd -- mostly made up of geeks who are just here to enjoy the ride (SOBER). There was some social aspect to the mass audience gaming but I chickened out mostly because anxiety! I like that there was an opt out option tbh, y'all get me.

And that's it for day 1! more updates later if I get bored again
