Pei Yen's best venues to hang out during the fringe (anxiety edition)

Pleasance Courtyard
+ great place to people-watch and play Spot That Famous Person
+ lots of great shows to see
+ wifi. not that you'll be able to find a place to sit down and surf the ol' net
- outdoors, hence, cold
- too many drunk people, an absolute nightmare on weekends
- hard to find isolated seating
Overall: Great for comedy shows and possibly to hang out as a group; an anxiety shitstorm when I'm on my own. 2/5

Pleasance Dome
+ plenty of seating
+ warm indoors, great calming atmosphere
+ nice coffee shop!
+ very accessible toilets for me to hide in if needed
+ not too bad place to people-watch as well, esp with the upstairs VIP bar
+ wifi available, if it works at all
Overall: I take naps in here. 5/5

Underbelly Med Quad
+ outdoors but surrounded by lovely university blocks
+ a very chilled out atmosphere
- no wifi :(
Overall: A quiet place to rest my senses. 4/5

Assembly George Square Studios
+ quiet calm place, so many tables and booths and comfy couches
+ pool tables!
+ small bar, less chances of people maximum shunting I guess
+ nice toilets
- where is your wifi?
Overall: A new gem. I should hang out here more often. 4/5

Gilded Balloon Teviot
+ it's a nice building. that's it.
- only places to sit around is the beer garden and wine bar. can't go inside there without being obligated to buy a drink
- honestly, I just end up hiding under the stairs when I'm here.
Overall: I'd rather go outside and sit at Bristo Square in the cold. No thanks. 1/5
