There's just something very therapeutic about typing a blog on a keyboard. Blogging on a phone just wouldn't cut it, man. My fingers just itch for the QWERTY. This is why I need to get back to a computerised hospital system stat.
My nightmare oncall run is over!! I am fucking exhausted and want to sleep for a week.
VIDEOGAMES
lol I've started playing Rocket League. It's totally not my type of game, but it's damn addictive. The premise is absolutely ridiculous (FAST CARS!!! FOOTBALL!!!! COMBINE BOTH), but goddamn is it fun to just kick back and play a few rounds of this bullshit. I really want to local co-op this shit with someone. Time to invest in a new controller, I guess..
TELLY
not much going on here. I've downloaded a couple of episodes of The Joy of Techs, because Marcus Brigstocke. It's no Gadget Man, that's for sure. But i like looking at shiny techy things, so eh.
I'm looking forward to watching Live From The BBC, I guess? Some preeetty good comedians on Series 2 so far. I've heard little whispers about John Robins and Sara Pascoe's new sets this year. Going to be an interesting experience to see both of their shows at the Fringe :||| Aaaand not awkward at all, like watching your mom and dad have a passive aggressive fight..
PODCASTS
Had a couple of hours of peacefulness to myself last night as I settled down to catch up on Radio Free Burrito. It's so good. Wil Wheaton just has a really soothing voice.. and the way he speaks to you through the medium of podcast just feels very warm and personal and human, and he comes across as such a genuine and down-to-earth dude. The little ad breaks and sound bites scattered throughout act as a great breather, and I find myself surprised whenever I get to the end of an episode. He just.. makes me really proud to be a geek?? that being passionate about a subject is something to be celebrated instead of being ashamed of. *shrugs*
The podcast in general just gives off a very.. super late night radio show vibe -- when you're just sitting alone in your room in the middle of the night with the radio down on a low buzz, feeling like the only person alive in the world. Soooo soothing. Good memories.
I'm not even going to go into the little anecdotes he tells about coping with his mental illness. That's going to be an entire journal entry in itself tbh.
